Hand crafted with processes developed over 150 years, our toboggans and sleds are designed to last for generations. Based on the design of our larger, traditional wooden toboggan, we've crafted the finest snow toboggan found from the arctic on down!

Our Benefits

• Similar in design to our large traditional wooden toboggan our downhill snow sleigh has fewer boards than 20th century recreational toboggans. This means fewer joints, increased durability, and a toboggan to be shared among generations.
• As his Canadian mentor taught him, our Craftsman laminates every wooden toboggan crosspiece in order to withstand decades of repeated twisting.
• Just like all of our toboggans, the gradual initial curl allows our downhill sled to ride higher, rather than plow into snow drifts and in powdery conditions.
• Our commitment to bending all of our sleds out of red oak is maintained in our sledding toboggan. We have learned from generations of craftsmen and have continued to perfect a natural bending process that allows us to use thicker boards. Constructing toboggans of red oak also provides a beautiful and durable grain perfect for winter snow sleds.
• Instead of screws, Northern Toboggan & Sled uses bolts to fully contain both the cross piece and runner boards. This provides a solid, lasting connection to withstand repeated flexing.

The predecessors of Northern Toboggan & Sleds' downhill toboggans have been thoroughly tested for decades throughout the Canadian North. These coasting toboggans are of the highest quality by design, construction and materials. It has to be to have our brand.
